Evaluation

Formative and summative evaluation of the program and the students will be conducted to gather information on which to based decision concerning its effectiveness and/or problems, and its impact on the development of gifted and talented students.  Program improvement is the goal of such evaluations.

The Selection Committee will analyze the collected data to modify and update campus improvement plans including provisions to improve/modify services for talented and gifted students.

 

Professional Development

All teachers in the New Deal School District who instruct talented and gifted students will have a minimum of 30 hours of staff development in gifted/talented programming and instruction, including the nature and needs.  Teachers will also receive at least six(6) hours of annual updated training in the area of gifted and talented.  Administrators and counselors employed at New Deal I.S.D. will also have at least six(6) hours of gifted/talented training.
