Introduction

Its time to PARTY!

        Why would any one want to study DNA?  Where will we ever use this stuff?  This is boring!  Now I know that you have never said these things, but maybe someone in your science class has asked these questions at some point.  Well, now is your chance to answer these and other questions about DNA. 

        This WebQuest will take you through the research and discovery of the structure of the DNA molecule.  You will look into the people that researched this amazing molecule.  You will also find out why DNA is such a unique molecule and what pieces make up its structure. 

        You will discover the unique shape of each of the compounds that make up DNA, and how cells use DNA to transmit genetic information.

        Once your research is complete, you will plan and organize a party to celebrate National DNA Day for your class and/or school.  You will make a DNA model for display and discussion at the party.  You will invite honored guests and arrange a speaker to talk about DNA.  You and your friends will plan for DNA food and drinks, as well as decorations and PR.
