New Deal ISD



Academics

TAKS:  New Deal has been identified by the State as a Recognized School with students attaining a 90th percentile district-wide passing rate on the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills Test the past two years.

Advanced Courses:  New Deal offers a variety of advanced courses such as AP English, AP Physics, Biology II, AP Biology, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, and Spanish III.

College Credit:   New Deal works with South Plains College to offer 6 hours of college English credit for English IV concurrent and for 3 hours of College Algebra.  Students have received college credit for Microcomputer Applications and Accounting courses taken at New Deal High School.

Recommended High School Program:  New Deal has a number of students who work toward the Recommended High School Seal on their transcript.

Organizations:  New Deal students have many opportunities to participate in student organizations such as National Honor Society, Science Club, Spanish Club, FCCLA, and FFA.

UIL:
  New Deal High School has a large number of students participate annually in district competition, including band, athletics, Theater Arts, and literary/academic competitions.
