Text Box: Lion Pride Band 2009-10  

Text Box: The Lion Pride Band is the primary performance ensemble at New Deal High School.  Besides performing at every football game, the band performs in concerts and contests.    The high school band starts rehearsals in early August each year preparing for football season and UIL competition. The Lion Pride Band under the leadership of James and Kay Nance was awarded the UIL Sweepstakes Award in the first two years of their tenure. The band advanced to the Area Marching Contest in 2007 and was also an Area qualifier in ATSSB’s Outstanding Performance Series.   The New Deal High School Band is continuing to build a tradition of excellence.
